Honest about what it doesn't know
A blank means not recorded, never zero. A projected position on the map looks different from an observed one. And if updates are paused, the flight says so instead of showing you a stale time.

Your boarding pass carries your name and your booking code, which makes it the most sensitive thing in any travel app. So it stays on your phone — and we ask you for as little else as we can get away with.

How is FlightDex more private than other trackers?
You can use FlightDex without making an account at all. Boarding passes are encrypted on your phone, never uploaded, and deliberately left out of cloud backup. The app has no location permission at all — check its permission list on Google Play. The only things it ever asks you for are notifications, the camera and, if you import from it, your calendar. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter and no advertising SDK in it.
Can I share a flight with someone who doesn't have the app?
Yes. A share link opens in any browser with the flight's live status, its route and the aircraft's last reported position, so the person meeting you needs no app and no account. The link carries no booking code, no seat and no full name — only a short display name if you set one — and you can see every link you've made and revoke it in a tap. Sharing and following are Pro features.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Your flights, your passport and your boarding passes all work offline, and a pass renders on the phone itself, so you can scan it at the gate on airport wifi that isn't cooperating.
